JEFFREY GOODMAN is an award winning composer, guitarist, teacher and author, currently living in Los Angeles, California. He has composed for movies, radio, theatrical productions, and has licensed his music worldwide.
He is the author of A Beginner's Guide to the Classical Guitar, which has received international acclaim, and whose teaching materials and innovative methods are used in more than 180 countries.
He has authored numerous books, including Flamenco Legacy, a collection of authentic 20th century flamenco music, and ensemble guitar arrangements of such composers as Antonio Vivaldi, Georg Friedrich Handel and Johannes Pachelbel.
Among his compositions are Romance for Guitar and Strings, Tessellation 12 for Winds and Strings, Concerto for Two Pianos, Whispering Harps of Merlin - A Musical Love Story, and Music for Guitar .
As a performer, he has given solo recitals throughout the United States, and his European tours included appearances at the American Embassy in Vienna, the Vienna Conservatory, and the Salzburg Nusic Festival. Concert tours in Wales and England included a solo recital of 20th Century works for B.B.C. Radio.
He taught classical guitar for many years at the University of California at Los Angeles, and during 2009 was a guest professor of music at Santa Monica College. In 2017 he was the co-host of the Hellys International Guitar Festival in Cornwall, England.
