Robert de Visée -Baroque masterpieces

All of the arrangements in this book are designed for performance, and have been made in the spirit of Baroque music practice. My goal has been to bring out the unique characteristics of de Visée’s music with arrangements that are tailored to the characteristics of the today’s classical guitar. There is a free use of the entire bass range, and also an attention to sonorities that effectively bring out the musical ideas of the original version. 

Today’s guitar, with its extended bass range and other sophisticated acoustic qualities, invites the player to arrange the music in a way more suitable for our tastes.  De Visée himself freely arranged the same pieces for different instruments.
